Hello! I’m Dr. Parisa Jalalat, a board-certified therapeutic optometrist in sunny Long Beach, CA. I take an integrative approach to eyecare, focused on the individual needs of each patient.
I have a strong interest in modernizing the eyecare experience by integrating the latest technologies and techniques.
A few things I’m passionate about:
- Increasing access to eyecare by performing virtual comprehensive eye exams, including glasses and contact lens exams, using cutting-edge telehealth technology
- Treating eye diseases through an integrated and holistic approach, combining natural and evidence-based medicine
- Performing in-office dry eye treatments to provide relief
- Co-managing ocular surgeries when needed
- Contributing to clinical research and innovations in the eye care field
I grew up in Houston and studied Psychology at UT Austin (Hook ’em Horns!). I received my Doctor of Optometry degree from Nova Southeastern University in Florida. During my training, I gained experience at sites like Walter Reed Military Hospital and provided free eye care overseas to an underserved population in the Dominican Republic.
When not caring for patients’ eyes and creating educational content, you can find me doing yoga, traveling, hiking, biking, roller skating along the beach boardwalk, and spending quality time with loved ones and my pup. Or eating tacos – any good Texan knows queso is it’s own food group!
I’m fluent in English and conversational in Farsi and Spanish.
Due to my special interest in ocular aesthetics, I have been featured in Harper’s Bazaar, Glamour, and Well + Good.
It’s my pleasure to provide education to empower you to take control of your eye health. Healthy eyes are pretty eyes!
